Huntington Beach, Orange County
The Huntington Beach Pier runs 1,850 feet into the Pacific from the foot of Main Street. A wooden pier first stood here in 1904, and storms have forced the city to rebuild more than once. The current concrete pier opened in 1992. Surfers work the waves on both sides while people fish from the railings above.
